Forestry Explained
Welcome to the world of forestry
Forestry is more than the science of planting, managing and caring for timber plantations.
It’s about the landscape of which our timber plantations are part, the animal and plant species that call the forestry-owned land home and the people and communities that the Industry touches. It’s about developing effective and efficient best practices with the lowest negative environmental and social impact possible. It is about producing an array of renewable, sustainable and versatile end-products.
The Forestry Industry’s legacy in South Africa is far reaching. As Forestry South Africa, we are proud to be part of it.
