NTE Analytical Chemist, Seconded to the ICFR
- MSc Plant Pathology
My research involves the inspection and testing of Mimosa products derived from the Black Wattle tree found in Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal provinces. In 2019, I started a project looking at the impact environmental stressors had on Black Wattle bark quality. I am currently secondment to the ICFR, where I have access to experts in their field. My research involves a substantial amount of fieldwork, with the ICFR technicians, sampling and characterising Black Wattle trees and testing these in the laboratory.
