March/April newsletter: Keeping abreast of forestry news during COVID-19 lockdown
Since the official start of lockdown on 27 March, the FSA website has published 15 breaking news stories containing essential information for the Sector during this challenging time. These news items have also been circulated to members via FSA’s Telegram channel.
Even with essential sector classification, Forestry has still experienced a number of challenges. We want to commend members for their commitment and dedication during this difficult time, ensuring South Africa’s commercial forests provide the feedstock for essential services, our Country and people need.
We hope the information we are providing on a daily basis helps make our members’ lives easier. We are already getting feedback that the Industry letters circulated last week have helped a number of members get court orders they sadly require to continue with essential operations.
